Напомена
Giric, Dungal's son, reigned for twelve years; and he died in Dundurn, and was buried in Iona. He subdued to himself all Ireland, and nearly [all] England; and he was the first to give liberty to the Scottish church, which was in servitude up to that time, after the custom and fashion of the Picts.
Euchaid MacGreggor was also known as Aodh MacCinaeda having being the son in law of Constantine. The naming conventions in Pictish Scotland not being entirely patronymic and Mac meaning Son, Son in Law, or a direct male descendant.
Aodh or Hugh, the fair-haired, succeeded his brother Constantine. His reign was unfortunate, short and troublesome. Grig, who was Maormor, or chief, of the country between the Dee and the Spey, having become a competitor for the crown, Aodh endeavoured to put him down, but did not succeed; and having been wounded in a battle fought at Strathallan, (or possibly Strathdon), he was carried to Inverurie, where he died, after lingering two months, having held the sceptre only one year.
